6/19/2023 0 Comments Shards of war pl![]() Infinite replay potential, infinite chase and so on beyond the basic shards. That part of the system is called a Tau Forged Shard. People saying it should stay as is in order to allow hunts to be a long term replayable grind must have missed that the system already provides that without needing to gate or make shard swapping cumbersome. Shards should either work like mods or be grindable. Still feels like a phone game with good graphics most of the time, though. The only saving grace to the whole system is that most of this can be bought with money, transforming the experience into a more traditional paid title with paid DLC. You keep hitting that lever and hoping the slot machine will spit out something good this time. Then again, Warframe F2P is basically an online casino with a space ninja minigame. You don't hold people's attention by boring them to tears. ![]() If I wanted to do boring, tedious, repetitive tasks that I hate simply for the reward they offer, I would turn to my actual real-life job and the massive amounts of data entry it tends to involve. It seems odd that I have to keep reminding people of this, but "grind is not content". How do you keep Veteran players interested? By giving them an offputting, demoralising, disenfranchising grind which makes them want to give up entirely and play a different game which isn't as grindy. With the current Archon shards to get to an equivalent point of having a few lying around and generally happy with ALL my builds being "optimal-ish" I could see it taking 8-9 years. So after 3 years of them being in the game, I currently have about 8 that I'm not using - and I have kept every prime and non-prime variant, have them installed on a few non-primes, and even have duplicate prime builds with different polarities (although I could easily find a use for them so they aren't completely useless like nano spores or polymer bundles. The above are very different for "optimal" builds than actually REQUIRING 5 of something and further more those 5 needing extra RNG to get the best stats. I feel like that was actually well paced - but there are a few big differences between umbra forma and shards.ġ) unless you start putting umbra forma on weapons, you need SUBSTANTIALLY fewer of them.Ģ) there are many builds (at least for me) that don't even require an umbra forma - I can achieve the exact same effect with one additional regular forma, or i don't need the umbra mod at all People complained about the rate of acquisition of umbra forma. The grind is the game, so how do you keep veteran players interested? High level, long grind. Having a near unlimited grind is what we wanted. I've never seen an update so time gated, this is just ridiculous. ![]() We're back to 5.5 years and that's using the shard from camp (which you can't even buy for the next 4-5 weeks at least. Now let's say you want 5 shards of the same color. that's still 2.5 years for something that should never take this long. Sure, you can also buy one a week from camp. 50*5 that's 250 weeks worth of farming if you want to have a full set of shards on every frame. Here's some math since you nerds love that so much.Īssuming you install 5 random shards on a frame, that is 5 weeks worth of waiting. – Loadout-System: You may prepare your gear before battle and focus all your play time on fighting.Shards should work like mods, where you can install the same shard on every frame without needing to extract it paying a LOT of resources. – Item Crafting: Unlike many MOBAs, here you may craft your battle items and upgrade them. – Fast paced top down shooter controls (WASD): In this MOBA you use the keyboard to move across the screen and leave your mouse exclusively for aiming and shooting. – Sci-Fi action-oriented setting: Unlike most fantasy MOBA games, Shards of War is set in a futuristic world with realistic weaponry and characters. – Traditional 5v5 PvP gameplay: Experience the usual battle setting that improves tactical team-based gameplay. While fighting drones, towers and warriors, players progress to the enemy base and try to destroy their headquarters. The rules are simple : Two teams of five players. Shards of War pretends to offer a new twist on the classic MOBA game, combining both deep strategy and tactical gameplay of MOBA games with fast paced action and controls of top down shooters (WASD). The game features traditional 5v5 PvP gameplay with typical MOBA elements. Recruit unique sentinels and outfit them through an enhanced itemization and metagame progression system that is both streamlined and constantly rewarding your gameplay activities. Shards of War was a free-to-play MOBA game with Sci-Fi action-oriented setting.
